RW Orange County LLC proposed a resort and casino in Tuxedo, NY in response to New York State’s request for applications to develop and operate a gaming facility. The proposal included a casino and hotel with 1,000 rooms, a 10-story garage, surface parking lots, and a water treatment facility. Outdoor recreational uses included world fairgrounds to replace the NY Renaissance Faire, a ski village, gardens, horse stables, amphitheater, biking and hiking trails, a railway, zip lines, toboggan run, snowboard pipes and rails, and a riverfront walk along the Indian Kill Creek. Also included was a new interchange on I-87. SEA was a consultant to the Town of Tuxedo and reviewed the air quality and noise analyses in the DEIS. Work on the FEIS was cancelled after New York State decided to reject casino development in Orange County.
